In this article we’re looking back at my year 2024. Plenty of traveling across Europe and United States, whole bunch of motorsport and cars and also trying to step outside of my comfort zone and trying something new like astrophotography or American football. At the same time Kai made some good progress with her photography skills.

March 2024 / US Trip

My first proper photography session that took place in 2024 was during my US Trip. I already spoke about it extensively in this article. It was a great experience discovering 6 states while mostly staying in New York City as I did last time.

March 2024 / M Day VIII 2024

Easter holidays were a little bit different this year. On March 29, we travelled to Autodrom Most. Popular Czech M Club held their annual event there and so that for their 8th M Day Kai and I were their photographers. It was interesting experience – we split with Kai and while they were taking care of the photography of cars with the backdrop, I was walking around the paddock. We also had fun at the off-road track.

April 2024 / Nürburgring

On April 14, I’ve returned to one of the worlds famous tracks. Nordschleife, also known as Green Hell, it is located in the Eifel mountains in Germany. We visited the ring°werk, their racing museum and nearby stores. Most importantly, this was day 2 of qualifying for the ADAC 24h Nürburgring. We used that to look around the ‘schleife and got some action shots there. Since visitors pay only for parking around the track, it was crowded with people. Atmosphere at the track was amazing and it was great to see so many cars driving on the classic track.

April 2024 / Luxembourg

Not that far from Nürburgring, you find yourself in Luxembourg. It was my first visit of the country and the capital city is exquisite. Starting the walk going through the old city, visiting places like Square Jan Palach or Cathédrale Notre-Dame. We then made our way to newer places located in the city such as Philharmonie Luxembourg or Parlement européen.

April 2024 / KR Motorsports Spa-Francorchamps

Main destination was in the third country of the trip – in Belgium. One of my favorite tracks will always be Spa-Francorchamps. I like to return there and so thanks to KR Motorsports, we could come back in 2024 again. Their busy track days are always a great experience with plenty of cars on track. Christian brought his Ligier which starred in the Gran Turismo movie, there was a herd of Porsches and also some surprises such as Bizzarrini.

May 2024 / Bánov

For the first day of May, we went to grandfathers house and took couple of pictures of dad’s Maserati and our dog William.

May 2024 / Třinec

A couple of days later we went to Třinec to visit Kai’s grandmother. We also visited the fortification Velká Šance.

May 2024 / Lamborghini Diablo SE30

Back to cars – during one of the photoshoots this year, I got to photograph one of 150 built Lamborghini Diablo SE30.

May 2024 / Šenkýř Trackday

The same day as Diablo Photoshoot, I also visited Brno Circuits for the first time this year. Šenkýř Motorsport held one of their trackdays there.

May 2024 / Prague

At the end of May, we visited Prague, the capital city of the Czech republic. The main reason was a visit of Rothmayer Villa. Built in 1929 by Czech architect Otto Rothmayer, it’s one of the cultural monuments of the country. The villa is located in Břevnov part of the city and it is built in style of Classicism/Modernism. After that we went for a walk in the old city and ended up having a delicious dessert at the Werich Villa.

May 2024 / Ducati

There was one more thing to do in May. In the Olympia Shopping Center in Brno, there was a Ducati exhibition showcasing classic and modern bikes – both road legal and track only. Some of them were already behind my lens years ago as they are coming from a collection that I was documenting in 2018 and 2019.

June 2024 / Greece

June began with a vacation in Greece. First we flew to Thessaloniki, then made our way to the Pieria region. We discovered beauty of this part of Greece including the Olympos Oros. There we visited the Livethra “Magnetic Field” Gravity Hill or Palaios Panteleimonas village. After that we spent some more time in Thessaloniki where we went for a sea cruise.

June 2024 / KR Motorsports Brno Circuit

As usually, even in 2024 KR Motorsports returned to Brno Circuit. This time with some older F1 cars next to the classic GT cars. There were two Toro Rosso monoposts running at the track which is favorite of many club members. Another highlight of the event was GT1 spec Lamborghini Murciélago LP670 R-SV.

June 2024 / Ferrari 550 Barchetta

During June photoshoot I had chance to have a detailed look at the rare Ferrari 550 Barchetta. The original production plan was to make 444 cars but because of Japanese superstition, Ferrari added 4 more so that the final count was 448 Barchettas.

June 2024 / Secret Garage

Even though I can’t disclose many details about this garage, I’ll at least share some images that I took in this astonishing place.

June 2024 / Mercedes-Benz 280 SE 3.5

Another photoshoot, this time with a rare Mercedes-Benz. More than 50 years old car, 280 SE 3.5 used a then brand new V8 3.5 liter engine. Only 1,232 units were built.

July 2024 / Ferrari Daytona SP3

July began with a AP Corse event, where all my attention went to the beautiful Ferrari Daytona SP3. Only a few units made it to Czech customers so it was great experience to see one of them at the Masaryk Circuit.

July 2024 / Grand Prix Revival

After 10 years, it finally happened. Grand Prix Revival made it back to Brno and what an event this was. Track full of classic formulas, GTs and much more. And not just parade laps but full racing action. This was also my first proper test of Nikkor 200-500 mm lens and I have to say that it’s a great lens for the track action.

August 2024 / KR Motorsports Red Bull Ring

Third time at KR Motorsports event, this time we went to Red Bull Ring in Austria. As always, full paddock and non-stop action on the hilly track. Highlight of the event was Ferrari 333 SP and also new Ferrari 296 GT3. Many teams used the two day long event as testing.

Who doesn’t love cats? Let’s take a break from cars with this black devil.

September 2024 / Track Day

Short visit to the track again, this time as my friends prepared their track day at Masaryk Circuit track near Brno.

September 2024 / Ferrari 250 GT

Last photoshoot of the year took place during a rainy September day. This time accompanied by beautiful Ferrari 250 GT.

After the 250 GT photoshoot, I’ve also visited a workshop full of classic cars. Here’s a peak.

September 2024 / 100 years of Brno-Soběšice

What’s the better time to visit the Brno-Soběšice race than on it’s centenary running. Park full of classic cars and bikes where they started for the hillclimbing race.

October 2024 / Church of St. James

After a long renovation, rooftop Church of St. James in city center of Brno finally opened for public. We had to visit the church that tracks its history back to 13th century.

October 2024 / American Football

First time experience with shooting of women’s league of American football in Brno.

November 2024 / Moon

With the addition of the Nikkor 200-500 mm lens to my inventory, I wanted to try something different. And so we went to the place of Battle of Austerlitz where we took these pictures of the Moon.
